We now have French Cutting!

Early January Blaze Color salon stylists were trained in French cutting. The salons brought in the best cutters in the US from Atlanta to train all of our staff in this method of cutting. This was the most extensive class we have ever had closing the salons for two days and going through 50+ models to master the technique during hands on exercises. Our belief at Blaze is that we need to educate our staff with with classes from inside and outside of Iowa to get the best in education.

On January 8 and 9 both salons were closed to attend a 2 day workshop with Candy Shaw a Master educator from Jamison Shaw hairdressers located in Atlanta. Jamison Shaw has been on TLC's "Say Yes to the Dress", along with doing Carrie Underwoods wedding and being the official salon of the Atlanta Falcons to name a few. The techniques for women's cutting we learned was French cutting. Blaze is proudly the first in the corridor to offer this style of hair dressing that can be found at the best salons across the nation.

French cutting differs from the previous system of parametric cutting most salons employ which is commonly known as British cutting or Sasoon cutting. Why we like it is that it produces softer more feminine results. We also like that a full body consultation is done to ensure the hair design compliments the clients body and style. Every guest stands at the beginning of the haircut to achieve the cleanest cut. The cutting works from the top down rather than the bottom up as in the previous method. This is great because it works with how the hair grows and falls so as to work with what occurs in nature rather than against it. We also learned French highlighting and blow drying so we now are able to produce more customized results than ever before.
